THE CRUNCH
AMD quietly launched two new processors today, adding an integrated GPU to the Ryzen 5 7500 and refreshing the Ryzen 5 5500F. The Ryzen 5 7500 is a 6-core, 12-thread Zen 4 chip for AM5 with a 65 W TDP and a small RDNA 2 iGPU. The Ryzen 5 5500F is a new 6-core, 12-thread Zen 3 chip for AM4 based on the Vermeer silicon, but it has only 16 MB of L3 cache.
The Ryzen 5 7500 joins the Ryzen 7000 lineup as a variant of the 7500F, distinguished by its integrated RDNA 2 graphics unit with two Compute Units. The chip runs at a default 3.7 GHz and boosts up to 5.0 GHz, matching the 7500F's 38 MB cache and 65 W TDP. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5 5500F is a new addition to the AM4 platform, based on the Vermeer silicon rather than the Cezanne design used in the standard 5500. It features a 65 W TDP and a 3.0 to 4.4 GHz clock range, though it notably has only 16 MB of L3 cache, half that of the Ryzen 5 5600.
