THE CRUNCH
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has wrapped up Cyber Storm X, a four-day national exercise designed to test and strengthen the nation’s resilience to major cyber incidents. The event brought together 2,000 participants from the public and private sectors to simulate a scenario involving a nation-state adversary targeting the transportation and water sectors. CISA will now analyse the data,
publish a public after-action report, and use the findings to refine response plans and information-sharing practices for future incidents.
The exercise marks the tenth Cyber Storm event in the programme's 20-year history and involved over 200 organisations across all levels of government and the private sector. Acting CISA Director Nick Andersen noted that the event is vital for ensuring that plans, policies, and partnerships are ready when a crisis occurs.
