THE CRUNCH
Control Resonant pushes the boundaries of PC graphics with path tracing and Nvidia’s latest DLSS 4.5 features, delivering stunning visuals but demanding serious hardware. Our tests across 28 GPUs reveal that only the RTX 5090 can hit a smooth 60 FPS at 4K without help, while mid-range cards will need upscaling or lower settings to keep up with the Hiss.
The game showcases Nvidia’s RTX Mega Geometry tech and the full DLSS 4.5 suite, including the new transformer upscaling model. This tech makes shadows crisp and reflections accurate, especially in water and glass, but it also hits older RTX 30-series cards hard. If you are on an older card, you might get a few extra frames by switching to older DLSS models, though you will lose some image quality.
Performance is demanding even without ray tracing. At 1080p Ultra, you want at least an RTX 5060 Ti or Radeon RX 9060 XT for a 60 FPS average, and older cards like the RTX 3060 struggle to break 30 FPS. At 4K, the RTX 5090 is the only card that can deliver a steady 60 FPS on its own, meaning most other GPUs will need DLSS Super Resolution or frame generation to play smoothly.
