THE CRUNCH
Cooler Master has officially launched its GPU Shield adapter in the US, a device designed to prevent the melting of 12v-2×6 GPU power connectors. The adapter monitors current for anomalies and can actively reduce power if levels become too high. It also features dual-colour connector tips to ensure proper cable insertion and comes with 200 mm of cable length.
The GPU Shield adapter was first shown at CES 2026 and is now available on Cooler Master's online shop for $49.99. It builds upon the company's existing GPU Shield technology found in PSUs, offering a visible solution for cases where the PSU is not easily accessible. The device aims to mitigate the common issue of melted connectors by providing both active intervention and a visual indicator for correct installation.
