THE CRUNCH
GMKtec has unveiled the Evo-X3, a mini PC that swaps the Evo-X2's plastic body for a metal chassis and adds a new cooling design. It is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, which features 16 cores and 32 threads, along with 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM. The device is priced at $3,799.99 for the 128GB/2TB configuration, a significant increase from the previous model.
The Evo-X3 is a tower-style mini PC that stands over 14 inches tall and measures roughly 2.7 liters. It features a CNC metal chassis with a textured green plastic cap on top. The device includes a USB4 Type-C port, an OCuLink PCIe Gen 4 x4 port, and Wi-Fi 7. However, it lacks a front USB-C port and requires a separate power brick.
In terms of performance, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor delivers exceptional results, outperforming rivals in multi-threaded tests. The integrated Radeon 8060S GPU handles gaming and AI workloads well. The 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM is a standout feature, offering a large pool of fast, unified memory.
