THE CRUNCH
City Connection has announced Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Jong REMASTER for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC. The mahjong adventure game is set to launch in Japan in 2027 and will support Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. Players will face off against familiar characters in high-stakes matches where life is on the line, with cheating described as a fair tactic.
The remaster introduces three game modes: Oyashiro Mode, where Keiichi Maebara must cheat to survive; Club Mode, a heartwarming showdown with penalty games; and Club Mode Extra: Paikuzushi Chapter, a newly added scenario mode. The game features elaborate animation cutscenes and an Auto Mode for players unfamiliar with Japanese Mahjong rules.
The title is designed exclusively for two-player matches and uses Japanese Mahjong rules. It includes a Bonus Gallery with newly drawn artwork and audio dramas from guest artists such as Poyoyon♥Rock!.
