THE CRUNCH

A new automated overclocking platform called Hypertune has launched, built on Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility SDK. The tool analyses a user's specific hardware and configuration to apply an optimisation preset, with the developer claiming performance gains of up to 60% in ideal conditions. Real-world testing on two different systems showed more modest improvements, ranging from 4.3% to 28.2%.

Hypertune is an automated overclocking tool built on top of Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) SDK and built in collaboration with engineers at Intel. The platform, developed by a Miami-based gaming company, includes automated overclocking for both CPU and GPU, as well as RAM optimisation to improve latency and frequency. Once downloaded, the tool analyses hardware configuration, drivers, and Windows settings to deliver a custom optimisation preset.

The developer claims that Hypertune can deliver a significant boost in frames per second, with figures reported as high as 60%. However, this maximum figure is not expected to be the norm. Testing on two specific systems demonstrated a range of improvements: one featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU saw performance gains between 18.9% and 28.2%, while a system with a Core i7-14700K and an RTX 3080 GPU saw gains ranging from 4.3% to 9.8%.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

The tool is available for download and is expected to be used by PC DIY enthusiasts who want to optimise their systems without manually adjusting settings.
