Cloudflare has launched a Web Search API via its AI Gateway, allowing AI agents to browse the live web instead of guessing URLs. The service is integrated with partners Ceramic.ai, Exa and Linkup, and is available through AI Gateway credits, observability logs and a direct REST API. The launch includes a commitment from partners to meet Cloudflare’s Verified bot standards, which require crawlers to respect robots.txt and provide links to crawled content. Cloudflare also offers Zero Data Retention options and BYOK support for existing web search providers.
