THE CRUNCH
Microsoft 365 Family and Premium subscribers will soon be able to share their Copilot benefits and AI usage with everyone on their plan. When Microsoft bundled its AI-powered Office features into Personal and Family subscriptions last year, only the primary account holder could actually use the AI perks, leaving everyone else on the subscription out in the cold. According to an email to subscribers seen by The Verge, the change will roll out over the coming months alongside the usual shared perks: access to Office apps and OneDrive storage, now extended to up to five other people on a plan.
The email, which outlines the coming plan changes, describes the update simply as "AI for everyone on your plan", with Copilot benefits and AI usage shared across the household rather than pinned to one login. No exact dates were given beyond the coming months.
