THE CRUNCH
Capcom has unveiled the first trailer for the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion Ascendance, confirming that the fire-breathing Elder Dragon Teostra will be a huntable foe. The trailer, shown at Tokyo Game Show, also highlights gameplay refinements like faster weapon swapping and the Boost Bracer, which enhances action. The expansion is set to launch in 2027.
The Ascendance expansion will introduce Teostra back into the series, a monster known for its explosive fire attacks. Capcom has also detailed the Boost Bracer, a new item that enhances the action during hunts. Additionally, the expansion will bring several refinements to gameplay, such as faster weapon swapping without the need for a mount and the ability to change equipment outside of a tent.
These refinements are not exclusive to the expansion, as Capcom has confirmed they will be applied to the base game as well. The expansion is expected to launch in 2027, with the base game currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. A Switch 2 version is also scheduled for release on December 4.
