THE CRUNCH
Nex Computer's NexPhone, a pocketable device that runs Android, Linux and Windows 11, is now slated to launch around March 2027, according to a recent development blog update. The project was first announced 14 years ago, and the company now estimates shipping at the end of Q1 2027. New preorders are priced at $599, while customers who reserved at either $549 or $599 keep their original price. Development devices are currently running Android 17, with Linux and Windows development continuing.
The update arrived via the company's development blog rather than a formal launch announcement, and after a 14-year wait since the project was first announced it is a concrete signal that the multi-OS phone is nearing release. Whether the March target holds remains to be seen given the project's history.
