THE CRUNCH

Noctua has teased a forthcoming product that looks like a Noctua-branded version of the Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II. The device hooks into a GPU’s 16-pin power cable to monitor current on individual pins and issue audio and visual warnings if the load is uneven. It also features a fan to keep connections cool under heavy use. The teaser suggests the product is nearly ready for launch.

The WireView Pro II is a small box that plugs into the 12V-2x6 cable from a power supply unit. It displays real-time current readings for each pin on a 320×170 IPS screen. The goal is to spot uneven power distribution early, which can cause connectors to overheat and melt. Noctua’s version will use a custom fan design that the company claims is quieter than the standard version.

A Reddit user recently reported that a standard WireView Pro melted while attached to an RTX 5090 after the device’s alarms were ignored. This incident highlights the potential value of the new monitor. Noctua’s prototype at Computex used a frameless NF-A4x10 fan and a custom grille. The fan operates semi-passively, spinning up only under load to keep connections cool without constant noise.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Noctua is expected to launch the product soon, as the teaser suggests it is nearly ready.
