THE CRUNCH

Nvidia has released RTX Kit 2026.3 and RTX Mega Geometry 2.0 SDK, adding new tools for neural rendering and path tracing to its developer ecosystem. The update introduces support for streaming continuous level-of-detail clusters for high-density meshes, alongside updates to RTX Character Rendering, Dynamic Illumination, Neural Shading, and Texture Filtering. A beta version of RTX Neural Texture Compression now works,

with the DirectX 12 Agility SDK preview and Linear Algebra, allowing Tensor Cores to accelerate neural texture decompression in shaders. Both the SDK and Texture Filtering also gain Windows ARM64 support, which appears to be groundwork for Nvidia's upcoming RTX Spark PCs.

The new Mega Geometry SDK is demonstrated using a textured glTF version of the Zorah demo, highlighting how the tools handle complex geometry. The continuous level-of-detail clusters aim to improve performance for high-density meshes, a common challenge in modern game environments.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Developers can begin integrating the new tools into their projects, with the ARM64 support likely to be relevant as Nvidia's RTX Spark PCs begin shipping in October.
