THE CRUNCH
Custom GeForce RTX 5090 cards in Germany have pushed past the €5,000 mark, with the cheapest listed model coming in at €5,242.94 for an INNO3D iCHILL Frostbite Pro. Hardwareluxx reports that no RTX 5090 is currently listed below €5,200 in the German market, with several mainstream models edging toward €5,500. This represents a roughly 73% price increase since January, when the same card was going for around €3,029. A
NVIDIA's own Founders Edition RTX 5090 remains priced at €2,099, meaning custom cards now cost well over double that. The price surge is not limited to Germany, as RTX 5090 pricing in the US recently crossed $5,000 as well. NVIDIA has not publicly addressed the pricing situation, instead relying on event-based promotions to distribute occasional MSRP units. The rising cost of GDDR7 memory tied to AI demand is cited as the main driver, with board partners passing those costs on to consumers.
The situation highlights a growing disconnect between official pricing and the actual cost of high-end components. While NVIDIA maintains its MSRP, the market reality for consumers is significantly higher, driven by supply chain pressures and component costs.
