THE CRUNCH
OpenAI plans to add invisible watermarks to text produced by ChatGPT and its Codex coding tool for users in the EU, according to TechCrunch. The company says the step is needed to comply with the AI Act, the European Union's rulebook for artificial intelligence.
The move follows the EU's AI Act, the bloc's rules for artificial intelligence systems. OpenAI says editing can make the invisible marks harder to detect, so the labelling is not foolproof once users start rewriting output.
