THE CRUNCH

Hideo Kojima has announced that Bill Skarsgard will portray the lead role in PHYSINT, the Xbox-published action espionage game. Kojima described the project as the culmination of more than 40 years of his career and promised further casting updates. The ensemble cast also includes Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe.

Skarsgard joins previously confirmed actors in the ensemble cast, which also includes Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Don Lee (Train to Busan), and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One).

The casting announcement comes shortly after Kojima Productions announced a partnership with Xbox, following a reported cancellation of the project by PlayStation Studios. Kojima stated that he was determined to keep the project alive after receiving notice of cancellation in mid-June.

Kojima emphasised that development is ongoing and that the project will redefine the action-espionage genre. Platforms and a release date for PHYSINT have yet to be announced.
