THE CRUNCH

ASUS has launched the ROG G1000, a flagship gaming desktop that pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with a ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. The system introduces the ROG Thermal Atrium, a compartment that isolates the CPU radiator to improve cooling efficiency. The chassis also features the AniMe Holo platform, which uses a holographic fan with 720 LEDs to display custom animations and system stats.

The ROG G1000 is built around the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a 16-core processor with 3D V-Cache technology designed for AAA titles. The system is compatible with the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and uses a high-end X870 motherboard with DDR5 RAM and four M.2 PCIe slots for storage expansion. The ROG Thermal Atrium separates the 420 mm AIO radiator from the main chassis to reduce CPU intake temperatures by up to 16°C, allowing the system to dissipate over 1000 W of heat.

The G1000's visual design is defined by the AniMe Holo platform, which uses full-color holographic projectors to create a customisable display on the side panel. The holographic fan measures 380 mm and operates at a whisper-quiet 20.5 dBA. The desktop is available for purchase today from ASUS Store and major retailers including Amazon, BestBuy, ExcaliburPC, Newegg, and MicroCenter.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

The G1000 is available for purchase now, with the option to upgrade to a Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU later this year.
