THE CRUNCH
Remedy Entertainment has posted a bumper set of quarterly results, with Control Resonant's launch more than tripling the Finnish studio's revenue. Q3 income reached €39.6 million ($44.3 million), up 226 percent from €12.2 million ($13.7 million) in the same quarter last year, and the figures only counted Resonant's first seven days on sale.
The game itself has been a record-breaker. It sold its millionth copy on October 15, roughly three weeks after its September release, making it the fastest-selling game in Remedy's 31-year history. Chief executive Jean-Charles Gaudechon called it a defining milestone, noting it is the studio's first self-published game of this scale, built on its own Control intellectual property.
The results mark a sharp turnaround from November 2025, when Remedy posted an operating loss of €16.4 million following the flop of FBC Firebreak. This quarter the company recorded a €0.6 million operating profit, though the margin remains thin at 1.5 percent of revenue.
Audience expansion appears to be working. Close to half of Resonant's players were new to the Control franchise, which Gaudechon described as a key goal, and the United States accounted for nearly half of players across PC and console, followed by Chinese-speaking regions and the UK. The 2019 original Control also saw a sales bump, outperforming both earlier quarters this year and the same period last year.
Remedy sees room to grow: 2.4 million people have the game wishlisted but have yet to buy it. The studio's stated priority is getting Resonant into more hands, with disciplined marketing investment, while other projects including the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake continue in the pipeline.
