THE CRUNCH
Rockstar has confirmed when you can start downloading Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its November 19 launch, and how much room you will need to make for it. The pre-load file weighs in at up to 212GB depending on the device, and the company advises making sure you have ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible.
Timing differs by platform. On PlayStation 5, pre-loading begins on Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time in each player's time zone, meaning players in New Zealand get first access. Xbox Series X/S players can start on November 10 at 12am GMT, which works out to 4pm PT or 7pm ET on November 9.
Physical copies are code-in-box editions, so the download is unavoidable either way. Rockstar says those boxed versions should reach retailers from November 12.
As a launch-day extra, Rockstar will add a printable cover art poster and a map of Leonida as a free digital download on its official website on release day. A double-sided physical poster will follow shortly after launch via the Rockstar Store, costing $0.99 on its own or coming free with any purchase from the store.
