The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, an in-game Resource Pack, a Digital Mini Artbook and the Official God of War Laufey Digital Soundtrack. Players who pre-order either edition before release will also receive a Last Wish Armor Set, a Phranque Golden Leaves appearance and an in-game resource pack. Pre-orders open on Tuesday, September 29 at 10am local time, with the game launching on February 16, 2027.

God of War Laufey is the first mainline God of War title to star a protagonist other than Kratos. Players take on the role of Faye, who awakens in the Everywhen after her funeral to protect Kratos and Atreus from ruthless gods. Sony Santa Monica confirmed in July that the game will be available on disc, following Sony’s controversial announcement that it will end physical media production. No information has been given on potential physical Collector’s Editions.

The game’s synopsis describes Faye awakening in a strange land after her funeral to discover her plans to protect Kratos and Atreus are at risk. She must fight through the afterlife of the gods to save the ones she loves. The story is set in the Everywhen, a land overflowing with dangerous magic where gods from across mythology vie for power.
