THE CRUNCH
Valve's upcoming Steam Frame VR headset has received an early hands-on look after Linus Media Group accidentally published a first impressions video on its ShortCircuit channel. The footage, which was live long enough to be captured before being taken down, shows Valve's new device, its box contents, setup, fit, and a range test. The leak confirms that the headset's Ergonomics Accessories Kit will cost $60, covering,
an extra strap and controller straps. It also reveals that the Steam Frame's controllers use replaceable batteries rather than the built-in rechargeable cells found on the Valve Index. The leak does not confirm the headset's final price, which Valve has not yet announced. An insider previously pointed to September 14 as a possible release date, and Valve has been updating its Steam backend and shipping a stable SteamVR update in the lead-up to launch.
