SteelSeries is entering the premium controller market with the Aeon Pro, a wireless device that works on Xbox and PC. The controller is priced at £215 and is available to buy immediately. It features Hall-Effect joysticks, which are designed to reduce drift. The device also supports seamless switching between Xbox, PC, and Bluetooth devices. It includes swappable batteries.

The Aeon Pro is a multi-system controller, meaning it can switch between Xbox, PC, and Bluetooth devices without disconnecting. This is a notable feature for a controller that is otherwise focused on the Xbox ecosystem. The controller is also designed to be pro-grade, suggesting it is targeted at competitive gamers.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

SteelSeries will likely face questions about the value proposition of the Aeon Pro compared to existing premium controllers, particularly as it targets a niche market of competitive gamers who require multi-platform support.
