THE CRUNCH
TechPowerUp has released GPU-Z v2.71.0, the latest version of its lightweight graphics subsystem information and monitoring utility. The update adds new monitoring features for NVIDIA's RTX 50-series, including hot-spot temperature and memory chip temperature readings. It also introduces an 'overclocking' readout on the Advanced tab for NVIDIA GPUs and support for reading NVIDIA SYS, L2, and video clocks. The release
also adds a sensor that reports PCI-Express bandwidth throughput in GB/s for NVIDIA GPUs. The utility now supports a wide range of new GPUs, including the NVIDIA RTX 5060, RTX 4070 10 GB, RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server, H100 PCIe variant, Tesla V100-SXM2-16 GB variant, P102-101, AMD Steam Machine GPU and Radeon PRO V710 (second variant), Intel Panther Lake, Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake H, RPL-H Refresh, Twin Lake, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 series. Several minor fixes have also been introduced.
The new hot-spot temperature feature is particularly useful for enthusiasts, as it provides a more accurate picture of thermal stress on the GPU die. The ability to see memory chip temperatures individually, rather than just the hottest one, is also a welcome addition for diagnosing memory-related issues. The new overclocking readout provides more detailed information about boost locks and internal clock domains, which can be helpful for advanced users.
