THE CRUNCH
Rockstar Games is planning to release the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 in the first quarter of 2027, according to a GamesBeat report citing four anonymous industry sources said to be familiar with the studio's plans. That would put the PC release by the end of March 2027, at most four months after the game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. The sources requested anonymity to avoid damaging their relationships with Rockstar, so the timing remains unconfirmed.
If the claim holds, it would mark a notably shorter console-to-PC gap than Rockstar's recent history. Grand Theft Auto 5 took a year and seven months to reach PC, and even Grand Theft Auto 4 took around seven months.
The shorter window would also line up with a view shared earlier this year by former Rockstar producer John Ricchio, whose credits include Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto 5. He said the decision to release GTA 6 on consoles first was not an anti-PC stance but a matter of resource management.
