THE CRUNCH
Microsoft has given its Surface Laptop Ultra a launch date and a price. The laptop, which runs on Nvidia's new RTX Spark chip, arrives on October 16th with a starting price of $2,599 for the base configuration.
That entry model pairs an 18-core CPU with 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The 15-inch HDR touchscreen reaches up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, and the larger trackpad supports haptic feedback.
The RTX Spark is an Arm-based processor with up to 128GB of unified memory, and both Microsoft and Nvidia are positioning RTX Spark laptops at the very premium end of the market.
