THE CRUNCH
CD Projekt Red has released a new patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered that addresses performance and visual issues. The update, available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, fixes a bug that prevented DLSS upscaling from working on the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game. The studio also applied various lighting adjustments, including fixing interiors that appeared too dark, and made other changes to console versions to ensure parity with the PC edition. CD Projekt Red is also preparing a hotfix for the PC version to address reported save file issues.
The patch specifically restores DLSS as an option for players with Nvidia graphics cards, which had been unavailable since the remaster's launch. The developer notes that it is continuing to investigate issues reported through its Technical Support portal.
The update follows the game's release earlier this week, which added visual upgrades and quality-of-life improvements to the 2015 RPG. The remaster is currently the highest-scoring game of the year on Metacritic, with a score of 94.
CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that the Xbox version of the game will support Play Anywhere, allowing owners of the remastered console edition to download the PC version at no extra cost.
The studio is preparing a separate hotfix for the PC version to address reports of save file problems, alongside its ongoing investigation into other technical issues reported by players.
