tinyBuild and Hypnohead have announced The Crab is Walking, a roguelite city builder coming to PC via Steam. Playtests will begin in 2027. You construct a city on the back of a giant crab and guide it through an apocalypse. The game emphasises short, strategic runs where you must merge buildings, pick a Ride and Rider, and choose paths that balance risk and reward.
The studio behind The King is Watching, Hypnohead, is developing the title, which is powered by gasoline and hate. Players must manage limited space on the crab's shell, making tough decisions about whether to grow an army, boost production, or keep the Ride moving.
The game features 100+ unit types and allows for deep strategic depth squeezed into short sessions. Players can merge and upgrade buildings to find combos that break the game, with different paths offering varied challenges and opportunities.
