THE CRUNCH
WLMouse has officially unveiled the Beast X2, a wireless gaming mouse that weighs between 41 and 48 grams and is constructed from magnesium. The device, designed in collaboration with League of Legends player TheShy, will launch on October 8 and is available in four colour variations. It uses a custom PixArt PAW 3955 HS sensor, an Omron optical switch, and a Raesha optical encoder to support 8 kHz polling over both 2
The Beast X2 will not feature the perforated side panels found on the first-generation model, instead offering solid side walls with a perforated top. The mouse uses a Nordic 54LM20 microcontroller and a Raesha optical encoder, which WLMouse claims offers improved precision and durability compared to standard mechanical encoders. The main left and right buttons are Omron optical switches, meaning the device does not support analogue input.
The Beast X2 series will be available in multiple sizes to suit different hand grips. Pricing has not yet been announced, but WLMouse has provided a list of internal upgrades and specifications. The mouse will feature a profile similar to the original Beast X, and it will support 8 kHz polling over both wired and wireless connections.
