THE CRUNCH
Neo-nostalgic horror adventure 1999 TOKOYO Building launches for PC via Steam on November 10, publisher Kodansha and developer TOKOYO FUDOSAN have announced. The game will offer English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese language options, and a demo is available now covering the story's first chapter, roughly two hours of gameplay.
The game blends visual novel and adventure elements, casting the player as Akira, a protagonist who becomes an employee of the TOKOYO Building after getting lost inside. The building is rumoured to make people vanish: an indoor amusement park ringed by a massive water tank, technically a ruin yet never closed, with live-in staff still working there. Players use lock-picking skills and gathered information to build rapport with the peculiar employees and aim to escape.
