THE CRUNCH

be quiet! has announced the Light Wings Pro IO, a high-end unibody RGB fan series that fuses three fans into a single frame. The design aims to simplify installation and cut cable clutter, with all fan motors and RGB LEDs running through one cable. Lighting and fan speed are controlled through the company's IO Center software, available as an app or in a browser, including a fully customisable fan curve.

The series comes in two main variants. The unibody Light Wings Pro IO arrives in 420 x 140 x 28mm and 360 x 120 x 28mm sizes, equivalent to three 140mm or three 120mm fans respectively, while the Light Wings Pro IO Expansion comes as individual 140mm or 120mm fans meant to fill remaining case mounts. All models are offered in black or white, with reverse-blade options exclusive to the unibody sizes.

The fans carry up to 124 LEDs across four independently controllable lighting zones, and be quiet! claims the loudest models stay under 33.9dBA at full speed. On the unibody units, each fan can be controlled individually, with the central fan shipping at an offset speed to reduce acoustic resonance. A daisy-chainable USB-C connection supports up to six IO devices, enough to run a typical triple-intake, single-exhaust setup from one hub.

There is a catch for the smaller models: only the 420mm and 360mm versions include a hub, so the 140mm and 120mm expansions must be daisy-chained to a unibody fan or a separately purchased hub. The series goes on sale October 27 at $142.90 / €119.90 for the 420mm model, $132.90 / €109.90 for the 360mm version, $59.90 / €45.90 for the 140mm expansion and $54.90 / €42.90 for the 120mm fan, with prices identical across colours and blade types. All carry a five-year warranty, and extra IO cable kits cost $19.90 / €18.90.
