THE CRUNCH
Bluesky's Attie AI tool has grown beyond its original job. Launched earlier this year as a way to build custom feeds with AI, Attie now generates small social apps, including games, polls and dashboards, which can be shared with others as their own websites.
Making one works by typing in a prompt. In a demo, a simple poll comparing Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue took a few minutes to generate. Attie's website currently showcases examples such as a Flappy Bird clone called Flappy Butterfly, a drum machine, a quiz and an idle clicker, each with its own link on the attie.site domain and credit for its creator at the bottom of the page.
Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt, Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider described Attie as "social vibe coding or vibe coding for your community", framing it as app creation aimed at social sharing rather than professional development. The apps tried so far are fairly lightweight novelties, though the drum machine apparently earned some genuine appreciation.
