THE CRUNCH

A demo for El Paso, Elsewhere 2 is now available for PC via Steam as part of Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition, publisher Frosty Pop and developer Strange Scaffold announced. The sequel to the 2023 neo-noir shooter is a third-person romp through more than 20 handcrafted levels of gargoyles, possessed animatronics and gun-toting vampires, with protagonist James Savage dragged into the Void to repay a debt to an eldritch horror after being betrayed by a close friend.

The demo offers one level from early in the campaign, set in a fairytale forest whose swampy groves hide more than first meets the eye. Players get new weapons for the series, including an M16 and an automatic shotgun, and face everything from cackling witches to vampire mafiosos in what the studio calls a sampler of the final game's variety.

Studio head Xalavier Nelson Jr. said the team looked back to the PS2 "not just for inspiration, but for methodology", reusing the original project's foundation and assets to push the sequel forward. "Combat is faster, more brutal, and more nimble", he said, calling the difference between the two games "night and day". The full game is due out for Xbox Series and PC via Steam in 2027.
