THE CRUNCH

Grand Theft Auto 6 could weigh in at around 210 GB on PlayStation 5, if data pulled from the PlayStation Store backend by the PlayStation Game Size account on X proves accurate. The same listing points to a $79.99 Standard Edition, pre-loading from November 12 and a midnight release on November 19. Rockstar has not confirmed any of it, so 210 GB remains a rough estimate, and it is unclear whether the figure covers the download alone or the full install footprint. A day-one patch could push it higher.

Insider Gaming has reportedly corroborated the size, but with no official word the figure should be treated cautiously. If it holds up, the download would swallow close to a third of a base PS5's usable storage: the original 825 GB model leaves roughly 667 GB for games. Physical buyers are not spared either, as the boxed edition reportedly ships with a download code rather than a disc.

There is no Xbox Series X|S size yet, and the PC version is reportedly not due until Q1 2027, so console players face the storage squeeze first. An earlier claim tied to the leaker Cyberleek put a development build at over 200 GB, though dev builds typically carry extra baggage and are not a reliable guide to the final download.

With pre-loading opening on November 12, PS5 owners have a short window to clear space or fit an M.2 expansion drive before the game lands.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Pre-loading opens on November 12, ahead of the November 19 midnight release; an official size confirmation or a day-one patch could still change the final footprint.
