THE CRUNCH
HP has launched the EliteBoard G2a, a computer built into a keyboard, roughly 10 months after teasing it at CES 2026. The machine runs on AMD's Ryzen AI 5 Pro 435 or Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450 APU, and pricing starts at a steep $3,028 for the Ryzen AI 5 Pro model with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 512 GB PCIe Gen 5 SSD. The step-up configuration, with the Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450, 32 GB of memory and the same 512 GB SSD, costs $4,167.
The keyboard itself is a membrane design with an 1800-style layout and white backlighting, rather than a mechanical one. The PC side draws up to 65 W over USB Power Delivery and offers just two ports: one USB4 and one USB Type-C running at 10 Gbps. Dual speakers are built in, and HP bundles a 675M wireless mouse.
One practical upside: the G2a uses SODIMM memory, the small removable modules found in laptops, so buyers who want 32 GB of RAM can upgrade it themselves instead of paying HP's configuration premium.
