THE CRUNCH

M2 will release its vertical-scroll shoot 'em up Senxin Aleste for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Switch on March 18, 2027 in Japan, the developer announced. The PlayStation 4 version will be digital-only. Pricing runs from 4,950 yen for the digital standard edition to 7,480 yen for the physical standard edition and 11,880 yen for the physical limited edition.

The game first launched in Japanese arcades on July 15, 2021 via Sega's APM3 system. The console version bundles two takes on it: Senxin Aleste ORIGIN, a faithful port of the arcade game with M2's convenience add-ons and the original Wallpaper Mode, and Senxin Aleste BLADE, a newly created variant built around a powerful "Blade Missile" that clears enemies and their bullets, with faster-paced gameplay and freely switchable characters.

The package also includes a Training Mode where players pick a stage and ship type to practise, new BLADE tracks by M2 Sound Team's Sakuoki Kudo and chibi-tech alongside arranged tracks by Hirokazu Koshio, giving three background music options in total, and fully voiced opening and ending sequences featuring Hana Takeda.
