THE CRUNCH

AWOL Vision has introduced the LuxVision, a triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector that claims to be the first of its kind to combine 4K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and optical shift. The device delivers 6000 ISO lumens and supports a 0.18:1 throw ratio, allowing it to project up to 200 inches from a very short distance. It includes features for gamers, such as 1 ms input lag, Variable Refresh Rate, and Dolby,

The LuxVision is designed to transform a wall into a large-format screen with a single click. It uses a motorised lens cover and a zero-light-leakage lens to automatically adjust alignment and focus. The projector supports high dynamic range formats including Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, and Filmmaker Mode, and covers 110% of the Rec. 2020 colour space. Connectivity includes three HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort.

The device is built for both cinema enthusiasts and gamers. It offers a 7-level dynamic IRIS for scene-by-scene contrast tuning and supports 3D playback. For gaming, it features 1 ms input lag, Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, and Dolby Vision Gaming. The triple-laser RGB system provides a highly vivid image, while the optical shift helps maintain image quality when the projector is not perfectly centred.
