Microsoft founder Bill Gates has warned that world governments are not ready for artificial intelligence. In an interview with Reuters, Gates said nations must prepare for the risks the technology poses to the workforce and society. He compared the technology to alien intelligence, noting that in movies, the US and China magically come together to solve the problem. Gates said he has been in talks with world leaders,
He also said he is trying to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Gates argued that authorities must have plans in place when businesses start replacing people with AI tools. He suggested that some jobs should be 'Human Reserved'. Gates believes AI has great potential for good, and the Gates Foundation is planning to spend at least a billion dollars in the next two years to give more people access to AI.
