THE CRUNCH

Cooler Master has released its GPU Shield in the EU, a month after launching the 12v-2×6 power cable monitoring accessory in the US. The safety add-on, which keeps an eye on the power connection feeding a graphics card, is priced at €29.99 in Europe against $49.99 in the US. It is sold directly by Cooler Master and does not yet appear on retailers such as Amazon.

The lower price comes with a trade-off: the EU version carries a two-year warranty, down from the three years offered in the US and China. That still beats the one-year cover on the international version of the adaptor cable, but it sits just above the EU's legally mandated minimum warranty threshold.
