THE CRUNCH
GeForce NOW members can now adjust NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 settings in the cloud, choosing how supported games balance image quality and performance without owning the latest graphics card. The controls, found in the GeForce NOW app settings on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS and Steam OS, cover DLSS Super Resolution for upscaling, Ray Reconstruction for ray-traced visuals and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation for lower latency and smoother streaming. Ultimate members on the RTX 5080-powered rigs get the maximum options, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation up to 4X.
The tier structure matters: per Club386, ray reconstruction and frame generation remain exclusive to Performance and Ultimate members, while only the top RTX 5080 tier gets multi frame generation, letting players target a frame rate. No tier supports 5X or 6X multi frame generation, as NVIDIA says its internal testing showed no benefit for streaming players.
A few quirks are worth knowing before tweaking. Override status only shows as active during gameplay and reads as Off in menus, cutscenes and sections not using DLSS, and frame generation can appear inactive if the service judges the current frame rate high enough. Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction presets also cannot be overridden at the same time.
Supported titles include 007 First Light, now with path tracing, CONTROL Resonant and Resident Evil Requiem. The same update brings Enshrouded's 1.0 release out of early access, with a new biome raising the level cap to 50, plus Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and ten new games this week. NVIDIA also says DLSS 5's 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model is getting a 2X performance improvement, debuting in NBA 2K27 on 16 October.
