THE CRUNCH

Sony has revealed the God of War Laufey Collector Box, a $149.99 / €149.99 / £129.99 bundle of merchandise that notably does not include a copy of the game. Pre-orders are open now on the PlayStation Direct store, with the box due on February 16 alongside the game itself.

The package contains an eight-inch statue of Faye, the game's protagonist, alongside her cube companion Phranque and her enchanted ribbon guardian Rue fighting Begtse's soldiers. Phranque lights up when the statue is plugged into USB power. There is also a 51-card Oracle Deck with illustrations by artist Megan Lara, plus a physical mini artbook of concept art chosen by the Santa Monica Studio art team.

Buyers should note the naming: this is a Collector Box rather than a Collector's Edition, and the game is sold separately. The game itself comes as a Standard Edition or a Digital Deluxe Edition, the latter adding Dark Alchemy in-game items, a digital mini artbook and a digital soundtrack. Pre-ordering either edition before the February 16, 2027 release secures a Last Wish Armor Set, a Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and an in-game resource pack.

God of War Laufey is the first mainline entry in the series to star someone other than Kratos, casting players as Faye, Kratos's Norse wife, fighting through the afterlife of the gods after awakening following her funeral. In July, Sony Santa Monica also confirmed the game will be available on disc, following Sony's controversial announcement that PlayStation will soon end physical media production.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Pre-orders for the Collector Box are open now on PlayStation Direct, with the box and the game both arriving on February 16, 2027.
