THE CRUNCH
Meta is expanding the capabilities of its Muse AI agent, making it more versatile for users. The updates include the ability to video chat with the bot using customizable avatars, giving the agent its own email address for task management, and granting it control over a Mac computer. These changes aim to move Muse beyond simple text chat into a more integrated personal assistant.
The updates arrive alongside a new hardware companion, the Muse Charm, a Tamagotchi-like device with a 2-inch display and 5G connectivity that is expected to ship by December. Meta also announced that Muse will eventually run on its smart glasses, where it will turn conversations into actions like adding items to a shopping list. The company is also releasing new Ray-Ban Meta Audio Glasses that drop the camera and start at 349 euros.
Meta plans to bring its 'Private Processing' system to the glasses, which is designed to shield user data even from the company itself. This privacy feature is a notable addition to the hardware strategy, though a timeline for its rollout has not been provided.
