THE CRUNCH

Embark Studios is tightening its anti-cheat stance on Arc Raiders with an October 8 update. Alongside the Denuvo kernel-level anti-cheat and Anybrain detection already in place, the developer says it has been adding in-house cheat detection models that use machine learning to spot cheats. It has also updated its policy so that any first-time cheaters are permanently banned from the game.

The update follows an outcry from players for stronger measures against cheating, which Embark acknowledges at the start of its developer post. The studio announced earlier in 2026 that Arc Raiders would get Denuvo anti-cheat to curb an influx of cheaters.

More change is planned beyond this update. Embark has been testing Elytra anti-cheat detection in its other game, The Finals, and says it intends to bring that system to Arc Raiders over the long term.
