THE CRUNCH
The fully flat-screen third-person remake of Arizona Sunshine launches on January 21, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, developer Vertigo Games announced. Built on the story of Arizona Sunshine VR 2, it reimagines the series in third person, casting you as Sunny, a dark-humoured survivor road-tripping across a zombie-infested Arizona with his dog Buddy. The remake adds split-screen and two-player online cooperative play, and for the first time Buddy is fully playable in co-op.
Combat leans on hordes of zombies dispatched with shotguns, machetes, flamethrowers and other weapons, alongside character customisation and the series' dark humour. Vertigo Games describes the remake as fully reimagined in third person for explosive action and accessible cooperative gameplay, with narrative-driven solo play or chaotic co-op where, in the studio's words, every encounter can spiral out of control.
