THE CRUNCH

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions for October 2026, with seven new titles for Extra and Premium subscribers and two further games for Premium only. Headliners include Mafia: The Old Country, Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition and the return of Horizon Forbidden West, which was removed from the catalog back in 2024. On the Classics side, Premium members get the PlayStation 1 survival horror Dino Crisis 2. Most games arrive on October 20, though The Midnight Walk lands on October 14 in the US and UK (October 15 in Japan), while Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 and Tales of Arise follow on October 27 in the US, UK and Japan.

Eurogamer characterises Mycopunk, a co-op looter shooter about a crew of robot exterminators battling fungal aliens, as the month's only day-one headliner. It has spent over a year in Steam early access with consistently positive user reviews, and its 1.0 launch coincides with its console debut on October 20. Rounding out the lineup are Monster Energy Supercross, The Midnight Walk (playable on PS5 and PS VR2) and Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2.

Sony is also leaning into Halloween. Premium members get Game Trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II on October 20, and there are horror-themed item bundles for World War Z and Back 4 Blood, whose first expansion is free to download from October 21 until November 4. A Dead by Daylight community challenge runs from October 20 to 26: if players collectively reach 10 million matches, a PlayStation Plus exclusive pack unlocks for all members. Until Dawn film fans get a discount on Sony Pictures Core from October 28, for a limited time.
