THE CRUNCH
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Crunchyroll will launch a dedicated anime hub on the PlayStation 5 home screen in spring 2027. The new space will bring together anime, anime-inspired games and easy access to the full Crunchyroll app, giving players a single destination for discovering and exploring anime content.
Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini framed the hub as a deepening of the company's existing work with Sony, pointing to Crunchyroll membership on PlayStation and the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime series. "Serving fans means meeting them where they already are," he said in the announcement.
The companies position the hub around the overlap between anime and gaming audiences: whether someone is a longtime fan or discovered a series through a game, character or world they already love, the space is meant to make discovery easier without leaving the PS5 home experience.
