THE CRUNCH

Epomaker has launched the HE60 V2, a 60% wireless gaming keyboard with Hall effect switches, following on from the recent HE65 V2. The compact layout echoes the Wooting 60HE, and it borrows some of Wooting's design language too, right down to a tray-mount ABS case and a carry strap on the left edge.

Being a Hall effect keyboard, it offers adjustable actuation from 0.1 to 3.3 mm of travel, plus SOCD and DKS features, all configurable through the browser-based Epomaker Hub driver.

Connectivity covers Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless, with 8 kHz polling available over 2.4 GHz and wired USB Type-C. A mode switch sits under the Caps Lock key, and the 8,000 mAh battery should keep things running for a while, though Epomaker makes no specific battery life claims.

The tray-mount case is filled with five layers of sound damping, including PCB foam, a switch pad, a sound-enhancing pad, latex case foam and a silicone bottom pad. It ships with Epomaker Creamy Jade Magnetic linear switches, which have a 30 to 55 gf actuation force, a POM stem and a 20 mm spring.
