THE CRUNCH
The Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime will now premiere on Crunchyroll in 2028, Aniplex and Crunchyroll announced, slipping from its previously planned 2027 debut. The series is based on the Sucker Punch Productions-developed PlayStation game Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Two new cast members were also revealed: Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu, in undisclosed roles.
There is a neat bit of continuity in the casting: Saco previously voiced Tomoe in the original game, while Fukumatsu is known for playing Bomb in One-Punch Man. Behind the camera, Takanobu Mizuno directs at studio Kamikaze Douga, with Gen Urobuchi handling story composition and co-writing the script with Renji Oki. Newly announced staff include composer Keiji Inai, sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami, sound editor Yasumasa Koyama and calligraphy artist Gyousyou Suzuki.
The production is a collaboration between HAYATE, Aniplex and PlayStation Productions, with Sony Music serving as music and soundtrack partner.
