Soulslike action RPG PRISON OF HUSKS will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on January 27, 2027, developer Glass Head Dolls and publisher WINGS announced. An updated demo is available now on PC, featuring the first level and boss fight.

The game is set in Lysiane, a painted afterlife that is crumbling around your newly housed soul, and sends you after your missing beloved through combat built around parrying, adrenaline-fuelled damage and swappable loadouts. Developer Glass Head Dolls says it aims to recapture the compact, shortcut-woven level design of earlier souls games.

The project began as a months-long solo effort by British-Indonesian developer Tammy Morley, originally made to practise level design, animation, programming and game design. The prototype found an audience on itch.io and was fully funded by WINGS shortly after. "It's been a surreal journey developing this game and I'm so excited to put it out into the world," Morley said in a press release.

The refreshed demo improves combat, visuals, items, enemies and tutorials over its predecessor and adds Simplified Chinese alongside English. The full game will support 11 languages, including Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
