THE CRUNCH

Time management mystery adventure Trainwatch will launch for PC via Steam on March 10, 2027, publisher 11 bit studios and developer Harvester Games have announced.

The game casts you as a level crossing keeper who memorises the train timetable and raises and closes the gates, while also managing hunger, sleep and hygiene so the protagonist, Troy, does not get sick. As the month-long story unfolds, new skills unlock and the fog around a mysterious Tower pulls him deeper into a world of strange neighbours, locked places and secrets.

Solo developer Rem Michalski described the game as possibly his most mechanics-heavy, but said the psychological horror still underlies everything. "It's a more nuanced kind of horror than explicit violence and jump scares. It's about an unsettling experience, a claustrophobic setting, and internal, human traumas," he said in a press release.

The hook is that time cannot be stretched: not every lead can be chased and not every promise kept, so players must decide what matters most and learn to let go. A release date trailer accompanied the announcement.
