THE CRUNCH

Two Alienware QD-OLED gaming monitors have dropped to their lowest recorded prices during Amazon's Big Deal Days, according to Tom's Hardware. The 34-inch AW3426DW ultrawide has fallen from $799.99 to $629.99, while the 26.7-inch AW2725DF is down from $649.99 to $469.99. Both screens have earned Tom's Hardware's Editors' Choice awards, with testing showing colours that are accurate out of the box and, with minor adjustments, 105% DCI-P3 coverage on the larger model.

The AW3426DW is a 34-inch ultrawide with a 3440 x 1440 panel that reaches 280 Hz, and it is brighter than its predecessor thanks to five-layer tandem technology. The AW2725DF, a 26.7-inch model, offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 360 Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 ms response time. Both use Samsung-made QD-OLED panels, a display type that pairs OLED's deep blacks with a quantum-dot layer for vivid colour.

The two monitors are not direct rivals. The AW2725DF is the older model, dating from 2024, while the AW3426DW launched mid-year with a newer panel. Tom's Hardware's testing found colours accurate out of the box on both, with minor adjustments lifting the larger screen to 105% coverage of the DCI-P3 space. The reviewer also praised the ultrawide's low input lag and "perfect motion resolution", and called the smaller model "a near-perfect display for gaming or productivity when space is limited".
